MPhil Economics at University of Cambridge

I want to apply for a Masters in Economics at the University of Cambridge. I have a 2:1 degree (65%) from a UK university which is slightly lesser known. I got 67.8% in my penultimate term and 70.3% in my final term. I am now working in economic consulting at a Big 4 firm.

What are my chances of getting in? Surely working in economic consulting at a big 4 should help massively. Would really appreciate replies from people who know about this topic and this masters. Also if theres any contacts or people/professors anyone knows of who has knowledge on this topic, please let me know  thank you!

There are various admissions stats here

In general, offer rates for postgrad courses are much higher than undergrad. For Economics it's approx 1 in 3.

It's not impossible, the work experience will help a bit. Add a professional reference from a senior economist from work if you can, that will make a certain difference. If your quant/econometrics scores are 70 or above, that will help a lot too.

But most people applying are on course for a 1st. I have a 1st already achieved and give myself 50/50 at best. The competition is getting better each year.
