I really want to go to sheffield to study dentistry. Does anyone know of any tips and stuff to include in my personal statement? Also, what do they look for in an application- gcses? how ukcat heavy are they? as grades/ a2 predictions? how much work experience?

Morning!

There's lots of info about applying to Dentistry on the Dental School website, including details about our GCSE requirements (minimum of 8 GCSEs at grade A, including English, Maths and the Sciences), the UKCAT, what to include in a personal statement, and the interview format.

We also run a free online course for anyone who would like to know more about dentistry. Discover Dentistry has a 3 hour study commitment over a 6 week period and it runs about 3 times per year. You don't have to do this course but it is a really good introduction and overview to dentistry. The next start date for the course has not yet been announced but you can reigster your interest. You can also find some really useful links to all things dental on Twitter @DiscDentistry

Good luck with your application :h:

You're better off looking at the dentistry forum on this site. Also for dentistry/med/vetmed it's a good idea to avoid getting attached to certain schools as you're lucky to get one offer let alone your first choice.
