Hi Everyone.

Hope you can help me out in this one...

Back in 2016 i was a named driver on someone else's policy but i received some points for a tarffic offence, which i declared to the insurance company back then. Then few weeks later they sent a letter saying they wont be able to keep me as a named driver on that policy..

So my question is, when the compatsion site asks:

"have you ever had your insurance cancelled or invalidated?"

Do i need to declare this or not?

Thanks guys.

Good question - I'd check with your prospective insurer as to what they think, because I'm not 100% sure and I wouldn't like to give you misleading advice.

Hi there, this is looking like a great thread

I thought I'd highlight that when I was looking for car insurance I noticed that a lot of insurers were offering to add breakdown cover and legal protection to your policy for a fairly hefty price. However you can buy them separatly elseware for much less (e.g. can compare breakdown cover here
https://www.confused.com/breakdown-cover and example of someone offering motor legal protection here
https://www.bestpricefs.co.uk/motor-legal-protection) which is what I did in the end. Just wondering if the OP thinks it's worth adding that somewhere to the top post?

Also I think it'd mention another reason why black boxes are terrible is that almost all of them take note of what time you drive too, and if you drive at night (usually after 10) that also counts against your "driver score" and could see your premiums rise.

Hello Jonzza_81 - Do you think breakdown cover and legal protection are automaticly included on comprehensive cover ? I found this on this website /
https://hello-safe.co.uk/car-insurance/comprehensive/ but not sure..?
