UCL, LSE or Georgetown for LLM/Postgrad?

LHi

I've completed my undergrad in law at UCL. I've enjoyed UCL and I feel at home in London, but I also want to try something new.

For prestige, which of the above unis should I choose for LLM Law and Economics/International Business Law? US is way more expensive but I don't know if Georgetown is good enough that it should be at least considered?

Have you been admitted to those three? Georgetown is by no means a better LLM than LSE or UCL. I wouldn't choose Georgetown over UCL/LSE even if they cost the same money.

Yeah and I want to choose the best one for my career, Georgetown would give me a US qualification over the others but the others are also very prestigious

I'd go for LSE/UCL, both LLMs programmes are among the top 5 in Europe, only behind Oxbridge. Instead, the Georgetown LLM isn't particularly prestigious in the US, you have many other better programmes: Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Chicago, Columbia, NYU, Berkeley, etc.

In my opinion at such an advanced stage, l consider them specialist areas. you have to know exactly what career path and industry/company you would want to work. Is it also locally/nationally or internationally focused? Which law specialism do you want to follow ? Furthermore, l suggest you attend specific talks/open days or have a direct chat with one of the lecturers. My take is this :-

Become University Professor (Law) - Yale , Oxbridge , LSE

Diplomat/International Arbitration /UN - LSE , Georgetown

Business - Harvard , Stanford,

Magic Circle - UCL

Thank you for your response - I'm looking for an international career, which wouldn't necessarily be in Law. I'm actually looking more closely to go into business/corporation career, hence why my LLM is to be focused in International Business Law. Can you give me any further advice based on this?

If you got the grades and willing to take a financial aid loan package - you can never go wrong with the US Ivy League law schools, you could perhaps even do a joint MBA degree.

I unfortunately missed the deadline for this cycle, would it be worth waiting a whole year for the next one or accepting Georgetown?
