Pros and cons

Everyone attending the University of Edinburgh or living in the city could write the pros and cons of the Uni and the city itself. I guess many people are struggling with their University choices and especially between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Pros:
Edinburgh is a lovely city. Plenty of touristy things to do
Lothian Buses/Trams is fairly reliable so it's easy to get around
The university enjoys a decent reputation. Might impress a few family members :tongue:

Depending on the subject you're going to study, there might be some cutting-edge stuff going on which might appeal if you're interested in a certain field (AI or Robotics in Edinburgh is commonly cited as an example)

Cons:
Rent is bloody expensive
If you're doing STEM (apart from Informatics), you'll be based in the King's Buildings which is a fair distance away from George Square
Low NSS scores (student satisfaction)
