Rearrangement of Oral exam

I am currently taking a gap year where I am retaking Chemistry and doing Spanish for A level. 3 Days ago I was notified by the exam centre that my Spanish oral would be on the 12th of April, this is a problem as my family has already booked a holiday abroad during the time the exam is meant to be. The exam centre is refusing to reschedule, even to an earlier date. Does the exam centre have to offer a different date if the candidate can't make it? If so, is a holiday a valid reason? I would like to add that it seems quite late to be telling me when my oral exam is taking place.
