What if you get required grades for insurance choice, but don't want to go there?

To clarify, imagine the offer for your firm was ABB and for your insurance, BBB. At A-Levels, you got BBB. What can you do if you still want to apply to your firm choice? Aren't you just sort of automatically placed into your insurance if you get the grades? Or can you still call up you firm uni, go through clearing etc?
You need to call up your insurance and ask if it’s ok for you to be released from ucas so you can go into clearing

If you miss your offer and your firm rejects you, that's the end of the road from them. They'll have decided during the lockdown that they definitely don't want you.

If you are sure you definitely don't want to go to your insurance, get them to release you before results day so if you miss your firm you'll be automatically placed into clearing and will have a decent shot at going somewhere (won't be able to apply to your original firm choice course during clearing)
If your firm rejects you what makes you think they’ll accept you through clearing? What’s the point in that?
