16-19 Sixth Form Bursary Fund

When applying to UCAS, will they ask/inform universities about whether or not you're eligible/receiving the 16-19 bursary? I'm not currently receiving it but I am eligible for it due to my financial situation and I was wondering if it will benefit or hinder a university application? Also, does anyone know how the 16-19 bursary actually works- I'm kind of embarrassed to apply for it but I need to pay for so many books for school etc. Thank you!

It’s not included as standard. You would need to check with your referee whether they would mention it.
