Nervous about applying 2019 for midwifery

Hi guys, I'm really worried that they are not going to accept me onto any of the university courses when I apply in October for lack of experience. I did one week in a healthcare summer school, I'm starting to do antenatal classes with a qualified midwife and I am also hoping to shadow or volunteer in a neonatal unit. What else could I do to help guarentee acceptance or tips for writing the UCAS statement

Hi Sameenah. That work experience sounds impressive so I shouldn’t worry. Just make sure you can show what you have learned from it and how you would apply it. My daughter is finishing her UCAS application right now so I am pretty familiar with the process, what universities are looking for etc. There is a great book to help midwifery applicants called ‘Becoming a Student Midwife’ by Ellie Durant, which gives great advice re Personal Statements, interviews etc. Well worth the money. You can get it on Amazon. Good luck.
