A level retakes

Do Universities know how many times you have actually retaken an A level exam? How do they know?
I believe they do because on UCAS you fill in all the qualifications you currently have and the dates they were awarded and you also fill in any that you are currently sitting so they will see that you are studying a subject you already have

Aye, but that's a form of fraud. Should it be discovered you could lose any offers made to you, and even be kicked out of uni further down the road.

Also, if you're at school/college, or are recently finished there, your reference will check over all the facts you put on the form. They will set you right on an omissions or inaccuracies.

Just put the older qualifications down, but make sure you get up to date estimated grades for any A-levels you are yet to take. The unis you apply to will assess your qualifications in the round. If you feel the need to explain the reason for resitting, put it in your PS or ask your reference to talk about it.
