Bipolar - adult or mh nursing application

Good morning.

Any advice. I have bipolar. I have wanted to be a nurse for ever. I’m torn between adult and mental health. I’m unsure if I could use my lived experience to help or if it would be to close to home. Anyone relate?

I am not a nurse, but used to work in mh. Lived experience is very useful, but it can be very hard for people without mh issues to cope in some mh environments. I left mh because it caused my anxiety and historic trauma issues to re-emerge, I’ve considered nursing but definitely looking to say away from mh and focus on medical- I’d feel a lot less vulnerable there (not that it is easy).
