Will I get less student finance if I take a gap year?

I'm taking a gap year to work and save money. My household income is £21000 and I have a part time job which I get paid about £9000 a year and so I just want to know if me having a job increases my household income and therefore decreases the amount I'm entitled to even though I'm going to have to quit by the time I start my course since I'm going to uni in another city? Or is my income ignored whilst they decide how much I get?

I’m almost 100% sure that you’re part time job won’t go towards your household income. I haven’t heard of anyone having to put their own earnings on student finance so i think it is just your parents that they will look at.

I agree I'm pretty sure they won't take it into account when deciding how much loan you are entitled to! This may also help https://www.whatuni.com/advice/coronavirus-covid-19-updates/how-to-find-help-for-students-covid19-and-university/88589/
