NHS bursary 2024

Hii, i was speaking to my tutor about sfe and she mentioned I would be able to get the NHS bursary but didn’t tell me much more so I did more research and I’m struggling to see how I would qualify with my course? I’m only seeing it available for medicine and dentistry but I’ll be doing diagnostic radiography. Does anyone have more information thank you

The NHS LSF is only available if you will be studying at a uni in England. If you want to study in Wales, then you can apply for the NHS Wales bursary. Currently, diagnostic radiographers are eligible for an annual training grant of £5,000 per year plus an extra specialist subject payment of £1,000 per year. You will also be able to claim back travel and accommodation expenses associated with placements. For students starting in Sep/Oct 2024, applications will open in March 2024 and you apply directly to the NHS LSF (not your student loan body). If you're already studying DR, you have to apply within six months of the start of your course.

Applications are made to the NHS LSF not via SFE.

Hi,

You should be eligible for the NHS Learning Support fund which is a £5000 non-repayable bursary given to students studying healthcare in England and radiography falls under this bursary. It is given over 3 instalments each year of study,

I hope this is of some assistance,

Mary
