what is meant by osmosis, facilitated diffusion, diffusion and active transport
Osmosis is the movement of water molecules from an area of low solute to high solute concentration across a partially permeable membrane.

Facilitated diffusion is the movement of particles from a high concentrated area to a low concentrated area with the assistance of proteins. (The proteins include channel proteins and carrier proteins)

Active transport is the movement of particles across the membrane, from low to high concentration against the concentration gradient. It requires energy.
