Does the cgp revision guides cover everything for a levels or would I need to get the other textbooks as well like for psychology would I need to get the textbooks by cara and sociology book 1 and 2 etc

It depends on your A Level specification. On the first few pages of the CGP book, it should specify which exam board, year, and specification it should cover. Personally, I don't like CGP because it's too information dense/too much going on on each page and it makes it difficult to learn/read/remember everything from.
I'd still recommend the textbook, as CGP is often a revision guide.
