Was this a faux pas?
I was at a social event this evening for a political party. I was talking to one of the members who I don't know too well and they were saying that the next event has a well known politician. I like this politician and my immediate reaction was an off the cuff 'oh I love him', to signal that I will look forward to the event. Now I am worried it could have been taken the wrong way as in they think I'm an obsessed weirdo stalker.
