Is it true that you can take 3 years in dental hygiene and therapy and then choose to complete 2 years with dentistry students. Answer please

I applied for dht and we were told that there is an opportunity to do that, i believe by the admissions officer herself in an open day . But theres a very slim chance u can get in as its obviously very competitive ( only 2-3 people get onto the dentistry course)
