Croatia - cool cities, lots of islands to explore, summer festivals
I would also say Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. But that may be a bit unrealistic (cost wise) for someone who has just finished their a-levels).
I literally just read this article about the best summer travel destinations for students and saw this thread!! Croatia is a good shout, less expensive than Greece and far fewer tourists! I really want to go to Malta, it looks beautiful.
The Switzerland and Austria, if you like mountains and lakes. If you like both, the Switzerland is your friend.
