Hi, I'm a student thinking of going to oxford uni. Currently in Year 12. Very interested in Mathematics and want to pursue a maths degree. Currently looking for supercurriculars. I've looked online and struggle to find many opportunities at this point for maths lectures/open days etc. If anyone has anything, please let me know! Any advice would also be appreciated. Have a wonderful day

Have a look at the threads on the Oxford forum where there are lots of supportive members who will advise you:

Heya! If it helps, Oxbridge Mind has tons of free resources and lots of tips on the blogs that will help you with your application You can try joining maths competitions, volunteering with something maths-related, doing extra reading and etc. Here is also a free Oxbridge application course!
Yeah I did the Senior maths Challenge earlier this year and was one question off a gold (got a silver). I've improved massively in terms of my problem solving abilities. Unfortunately, most of the UKMT challenges and olympiads aren't available till november/october time. By this time, applications would be closed to Oxford and therefore I wouldn't be able to explore its benefits. Definitely gonna take part in the competitions regardless, however if any other mathematics competitions would be available before then to your knowledge, please let me know.
In regards to the wider reading, I thought that maybe I should look for books beyond this reading list or whether should I focus on these, only because they may be used often and perhaps less unique?
A lot of these STEP classes and other opportunities from ASMP require fees, but I see why they are useful.
Thanks a lot for the response, it's very useful to get other perspectives.

You could still mention it to Oxford, whether directly by email or mention it in the interview. There may be others but I'm not sure, sorry.
I'm not sure if they still exist, but I went to a STEP preparation course just before COVID (in fact COVID was the reason it stopped so it was late 2019, early 2020) and it was free. I'd check that there definitely wasn't any free or low-expense courses.
As for the books, I have no idea, sorry :/ I only mentioned one book in my PS and it was more 'reading this inspired me to do more about this' and then focused more on what I had done rather than 'I read this and learned this'
Also Oxbridge Mind are a private, for-profit company, not affiliated with either university.
