I need help with studying through Ramadan for my GCSEs

I have recently realized that I do not have the notes to start my revision for most of my subjects (switched schools from a 2 year iGCSE to a 3 year iGCSE) and never caught up on them (my fault). Is it too late to make notes now considering the iGCSEs are in around a month? I am most concerned with History, Chemistry, and Biology.

Also, as it's Ramadan, my sleeping schedule has been messed up. I have been waking up every day 3 PM and sleeping very late at around 2 AM. I feel very weak throughout the day and groggy and I've tried to change it but I am getting more stressed about it due to my lack of revision and the amount that needs to be done.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i would reccomend you to make flashcards or sticky notes, practise pp and learn any mistake from them.helps a ton!

Thank you! I've decided to purely focus on PPQs and fill in any gaps by making notes on topics I do not understand. Notes on core practicals seem to be the most important for me right now.
hi there! i was in your position last year and what i found useful was taking regular, longer breaks (either 1 hour work 1 hour break or 2 hour work 1 hour break)

you may also find it useful to study once you've eaten suhoor/sehri. base your sleep schedule around your suhoor time so that you're up and ready to revise once youve eaten. this may be detrimental though once you go back to school though

i would also work on going to sleep earlier so that when you do wake up for suhoor and decide that you want to go back to sleep, you'll only sleep for another couple hours and be up before 12 hopefully (this is what works for me)

another thing you could try is studying between the hours of iftar and suhoor? then you'd be energised and full while your revising

also with flashcards

let me know if you need any resources at all. i have my all my online flashcards from last year but they're all aqa so i don't think they'd be any use to you. idk i could try help make online flashcards for you or something just lmk if theres anything i can do to help

i've listed my core resources from last year that may be of use
https://studymind.co.uk/resources/ - science ppqs sorted by topic
https://cognitoedu.org/ - science and maths ppqs and lessons all sorted by topic
https://www.mathsgenie.co.uk/igcse.html maths ppqs sorted by topic and grade (idk if you're doing cie igcse or edexcel igcse but i did the latter)
https://www.litcharts.com/ english analysis on every single novel/poem you can think of (lmk if you need the premium pdfs bc i have a source for most of the novels)
https://www.youtube.com/@FirstRateTutors more english content - this lady is amazing at covering the igcse english language texts and questions (i got a 9 in igcse english lang and all i did was make flashcards and annotate based on her videos and in class notes)

hope this helps!!! lmk if you need help finding any other resources

Hi Tazmeen, thank you for the help! So what I'm currently trying to do is to go to bed after Taraweeh, which will give me around 7 hours of sleep before sehri, and then study after Fajr. I will try studying after Iftar and let you know how it goes 👍🏼
For the flashcards, if you could send them to me, I'd be very thankful but I mainly just want to know the structure of your flashcards. Was it just definitions? Did you make flashcards for practicals? How often did you revisit them?
Thank you for attaching the resources! I do use Cognito and Mathsgenie but haven't used litcharts yet. I just went to FirstRateTutors' youtube channel and it has practically everything! THANK YOU!
For English, would you have an analysis of Yerma by Frederico Garcia Lorca? It's the novel we were studying in class and I have struggled to find a good analysis of it.

One more thing, is there anything else you'd advise? Should I do more note-taking? Mindmaps?

hey! sorry for the late reply :')

yeah that sounds like a great idea! make sure you're getting the amount of sleep you need though. i had this plan too but every time i woke up for sehri, i found that i was just too tired to stay awake so i went back to sleep

what i do now is before i go to bed, i make an hour by hour schedule for the next day. i go to sleep after taraweeh and also go to sleep after fajr. it ensures that i have enough sleep. then i follow my schedule. i normally do two hours work (i specify on my schedule exactly what work ill be doing so i dont waste time) and then half an hour/hour break. you could also fit in some time to have a nap? you just gotta make sure ur productive during your working hours

here is the link to my profile (https://www.brainscape.com/profiles/6762203) i believe through this, you can see all my flashcard decks. i have also linked some specific decks incase you cant access them through my profile link
- bio (https://www.brainscape.com/p/40Y8A-LH-B0GNS)
- chem (https://www.brainscape.com/p/40Y8A-LH-B0GNR)

yeah so what i usually do is definitions and max 2-3 bullet points of info if its one of those questions. for practicals, i made flashcards too. i also used ppqs and made flashcards out of them. that way, i would be able to become more familiar with the mark scheme language. this is especially the case with required practicals - they can only ask a certain amount of questions abt them before they begin to repeat so try and find all the ppqs (like the ones from cognito and study mind) about the rqs as you can and turn them into flashcards

since you're quite close to gcses, i would recommend doing them every couple days but what i did was spaced repetition. ofc you can still do this but it would be more short term and therefore not as effective. i'd recommend watching ali abdaals video on it just to get your head round how you can do it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-zNHHpXoMM) its essentially revising but increasing the gap between revision sessions.

yessss hahaha first rate tutors honestly has everything and was the sole reason i got a 9 in eng lang and 8 in eng lit

i had a search for the text you mentioned and nothing came up and im so sorry u have to do a text like that - i wish teachers actually made sure there were enough resources to revise the text online before they set it.

https://zigzageducation.co.uk/synopses/8294-yerma-complete-play-guide-as-alevel-drama?pod=8294 - this is a guide for a-level drama and its insanely priced but the only decent resource i could fine. they have a preview

blurting really helps. i used traditional mindmaps on topics i was confused about, just so i could organise the information and this always made it easier to understand. i wouldnt bother with notes at this point. just focus on making flashcards from textbooks/spec/ppqs and revising them

don't forget to leave some papers unseen so you can do timed practice

Thank you Tazmeen for your reply!
Yeah, I do find it hard to get the full 7/8 hours of sleep after Taraweeh so I'll try taking a nap after Fajr just as you mentioned.
The flashcards layout makes sense, thanks for the clarification!
I've been doing spaced repetition though not too well as most often it would just be re-reading my notes, will try it with flashcards and PPQs.
I've given the Yerma play guide a look and the preview is quite detailed so I am making use of that to help with my understanding of the text.
I'll focus on making flashcards and revising them, only 3 weeks left till examinations start 😬
Yuppp, I have been given access to at least 15+ past papers for each subject (online and hardcopy) so I will have plenty to practice my timing on.
Once again I want to say I am grateful for your advice, I was really lost on what to do and was getting quite anxious but you've helped me significantly!
