bath or cardiff for biochemistry

im trying to decide on a firm, i have offers from bath, cardiff, warwick and portsmouth (all with a placement year).

im predicted AAB and A* for EPQ and i was thinking of making bath my firm choice (ABB with A in the EPQ) and cardiff my insurance (BBB with A in the EPQ).

i think i like both unis and i was mostly thinking of going bath since i thought it made sense to firm the uni with the higher grade requirement and it's closer to london, but now im stuck.

does anyone know which uni would better overall for biochemsitry and is generally the better place for students to live? ive not had the chance to go either place and see the unis / cities myself sadly

thank you !

Bath is only a fraction the size of Cardiff so wont offer anywhere near the same level of nightlife. It is a lovely city and the university has fantastic sports facilities. The difference in travel time to London is negligable. Why not visit Bath to see if it is for you.

Which course do you prefer? Look at the optional units in all years of each course - which would you choose of you actually went there. What extras are on offer - placements, study abroad etc - these add heaps to your graduate CV.

The other thing to consider is that Bath is a specialist STEM University - it has exceptional facilities as a result and a big research presence. And it has some of the best sports facilities - even if you are not big on team sport etc, having the gym, pool etc on campus is fantastic.
