Doing my A-levels on a computer, how does it work?

I am going to be doing my a-levels on a laptop or computer which i did not do for my gcses, if anyone has done this before what kind of software will be used and is there any advice that i should consider beforehand?

Doing your A Levels using yoru computer how? Online course? Online college? Doing all of your work on computer?

For most subjects you won't need anything more than the standard Office applications and a PDF reader. An email account is advisable, but that's more or less given.

For specialist subjects, you can do with certain software, but the course provider/tutor will suggest the software you will need. Most of these should be free or charges a small fee if you use the education licences the college gives you.
For example, for computer science courses you will likely need to use some sort of code editor which can be Anoconda (if you use Python) or Visual Studios. For art, film, and photography (especially computer art), you can have a myriad of software; the most well known include those from Adobe. For stats, you might be asked to use R studios, but it's unlikely.

In any case, I would check to see what the tutors say. It shouldn't be anything too heavy or expensive. I would buy Microsoft Office as the standard (Home or Student edition, unless you want to use the same licence for business purposes later on).

If you want to do something extra like software for revision, then you would be looking at apps than revision material. Most of the time, you can get away with just using their websites and not need to download any app.
