Does this mean Leeds next year are only accepting UCAT ?

Just found on this page that from 2024 they are accepting ucat , I understand that bmat is stopping but does this mean from next year, since I’m abit confused since next September entry is still 2023 ? I don’t know if I’ve made much sense but thanks

I think you'll find that you won't even be able to take the BMAT this year! They mean the next admissions cycle, that is the people applying in autumn 2023 for 2024 entry. And from the people that did the BMAT:

https://www.admissionstesting.org/news/view/reforms-to-cambridge-assessment-admissions-testing-from-2024/

"For the academic year 2024/25 onwards, the seven UK medical schools that use BMAT tests as part of their admissions process (Brighton and Sussex, Imperial, Lancaster, UCL, Cambridge, Leeds and Oxford) as well as medical and healthcare schools in other countries will put alternative arrangements in place."

You should be glad, the BMAT was a very mean test! The UCAT is much nicer.

I got this wrong! It actually means to say that this year is the last yeat the BMAT is running. But Leeds has decided to stop accepting it anyway a year earlier than they have to. But no need to do the BMAT to apply to Leeds.

Interesting that they have jumped early to the UCAT. Makes me wonder how many others will do this. The more that shift early the less likely it seems that there will be a dual admissions exam system next year… (to me anyway)

Leeds are using UCAT for 2024 entry, so that is for admissions tests sat this year and applications in October this year
