Can someone please mark my 8 mark language question for English Language, thanks!

This is question 2 from the 2021 English Language AQA paper!

In lines 5 to 15, the writer utilises Ugwu’s sense of curiosity to create a semantic field of intrigue and curiosity. This can be seen where he is described as being ‘too choked with expectation’ which presents Ugwu as almost being ‘alien’ to this new environment, as it is something that he is not used to. This hyperbole is intensified through the use of the word ‘too’ which shows Ugwu’s inability to think of anything else other than his ‘new life away from the village’. The use of vivid imagery in Ugwu’s description of the city creates a sense of shock, showing how he simply cannot fathom the thought that such a place could exist. This can be seen where he says the bungalows were ‘painted the colour of the sky’. The use of this metaphor displays quite jovial connotations which provides a vivid insight into Ugwu’s perception of the city, as he perceives it to be very exciting because he has never had the experience of being in a city before. Alternatively, this metaphor could create a sense of ambiguity because the ‘sky’ can also be dark, which is paradoxical because although Ugwu feels excited about being in the city, he might also be quite scared because the city is so different to what he is used to.
