If you're doing the BTEC foundation diploma;

UNIT 1: Distinction is worth 24 points, Merit is worth 15 - 23 points, Pass is worth 9 - 14 points
UNIT 2: Distinction is worth 24 points, Merit is worth 15 points, Pass is worth 9 points
UNIT 3: Distinction is worth 32 points, Merit is worth 20 - 31 points, Pass is worth 12 - 19 points
UNIT 4: Distinction is worth 24 points, Merit is worth 15 points, Pass is worth 9 points

Then you'll have two optional units, depends on what your school does. But for example:

UNIT 8: Distinction is worth 16 points, Merit is worth 10 points, Pass is worth 6 points
UNIT 10: Distinction is worth 16 points, Merit is worth 10 points, Pass is worth 6 points

For the BTEC extended diploma; (add these onto the total foundation diploma points)

UNIT 5: Distinction is worth 32 points, Merit is worth 20 - 31 points, Pass is worth 12 - 19 points
UNIT 7: Distinction is worth 32 points, Merit is worth 20 - 31 points, Pass is worth 12 - 19 points
UNIT 6: Distinction is worth 24 points, Merit is worth 15 points, Pass is worth 9 points
Then you have 4 optional units and each one is: Distinction - 16 points, Merit - 10 points, Pass - 6 points
