While it’s best to have finance sorted before your course starts, you can apply up to 9 months after the start of your course. Only issue is, you won’t be able to start your course if your fee’s haven’t been paid!

However….. they do have a “late” applicants process and they work to make sure that your course is paid for the day you start - all the instructions for this are at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/how-to-get-your-first-payment-if-youre-applying-late

Again, you should really apply ASAP but do note the documents you will require to make an application (so have those to hand when you log on)

Start that NOW!! Get straight onto the website and set the account up for yourself and parents straight away. It’ll only take about 5 minutes, but if you want your fees to be paid on time and require a maintenance loan to cover living costs you’re leaving things late.With a bit of luck your parents or the person sponsoring your demand doesn’t have a complicated financial status with multiple sources of income from abroad or equivalent so it should be OK.But even so SFE have a huge number of students to deal with so the longer you leave it the more likely your file will be sitting on a wait list rather than being treated
