Am I doomed???

Currently a research student who has been placed on probation due to a "satisfactory with major concerns" outcome in a progress review early this year.

The probationary period has just ended and the PG director has asked me to meet him next week. The original letter from them said I might be put forward for termination of studies if they didn't find my progress satisfactory. I had actually been asked to do a re-review in early August and yet they now ask me for a meeting? Is this a sign that I am doomed? I don't know what they are gonna tell me and have been freaking out and dejected like hell. I can't afford to fail or there'd be no way I can explain to my parents.

Has anyone ever gone through the same at this university???
