ATAS rejection

I have applied for the ATAS certificate for the first time and it was accepted within 15 days. As 6 months are passed and I need to reapply for ATAS, I applied again with same info. Now the ATAS got rejected. From internet and college I came to know that changing the project can help and it is rare that the review is overturned. Please advise if anyone got acceptance after rejection or anyone was in my position before.

Hi, I got a rejection. What did you do next? Was it possible to get it again?

As per my prior experience, I can say that once your ATAS is rejected you can not get approval in future. I was advised by my college to change the project and reapply. I did that and got rejection again. I also requested for review and attached all the related documents which could prove that my project is not sensitive. That too did not work. So if you are once rejected it is very hard to get acceptance and I believe they have the record of students who was rejected before. So my strong advice to you and all other students who are in this same situation is that to leave this option and find other college or other countries for study. This is the hard truth what I faced and sharing with you.

I am so sorry to hear that you went through that , though I haven't faced a refusal. But what I am facing is a more than significant delay. What makes it more surprising is that my project is on Plants, a PhD program. And I am waiting for 53 working days or 2.5 months. I replied because I am picking up on your advice of applying elsewhere, given my program should I consider applying elsewhere its something my friends are encouraging to do , but then for a PhD its so hard to apply already. I am just tired of waiting

there is an option of getting deferred to a later session at your university, have you tried contacting your university in this regard?

Hi! What is your home country and research course? I understand your situation. Please mail the ATAS team mentioning the issue. Sometimes after the mail, they respond on the decision for ATAS. It happed to me earlier. But its good to have other options in hand too. All the best and I wish you get the ATAS certification soon.

What was your CAH code? Does your project have a defence application?

No my project had no military application. I had a ATAS certificate in place. But after 6 months as it gets cancelled, I reapplied before visa process and then it got rejected.

Did you reapply or review your decision? Was it useful?
