What type of spanish is taught in A level spanish?

Castilian Spanish or Latin American? or some mix?
I would expect Castilian Spanish. I know in GCSE Spanish our teacher specifically remarked on some differences to Spanish dialects of South and Central America (I think there was a word for taxi or something similar which meant something VERY different there).
We're in Europe so I'm going to assume Spainish Spanish from Spain.
IIRC it depends on your exam board for a start, but I'm pretty sure AQA is the most popular exam board for A-Level Spanish? If I remember correctly, they use basically entirely Castillan Spanish, but I suspect there's room for other dialects based on teacher's discretion... I use Educas where there's also South American studies as part of various topics, at which point some teachers might try to inject more regional Spanish in there - in terms of the actual spoken exam, that's basically entirely Castillan (UNLESS you do a topic around South America where you might use more regional Spanish as part of presentation but also showing your experience!)
