UniAcco taking a long time to refund booking fee deposit, what do I do?

Hey, so I paid for a booking fee/deposit for a room that actually turned out to be unavailable, so I asked for a cancellation and refund all within 24 hours (following their cancellation policy)

The website which is called UniAcco looked very legitimate and had great Trustpilot reviews, but now after actually paying I'm seeing some bad reviews.

My booking agent is taking forever to issue the refund and keeps saying it will be done at the end of the day then saying "No actually the room is available now" or "A refund can be done but we can try to secure another property so you don't have to pay again and again". Like dude, I just want my refund. I don't even want the room anymore and I followed the policy to a T.

What can I do about this? Genuine advice only. Thanks.

They told me the room I booked was not available after I paid the deposit and booking fee, but they only unded the deposit, not the booking fee. All other choices they recommended me were too far away. I asked for refund ofbooking fee, but they refused. Don't book via uniacco!
Did you Receive your deposit, please advise how. I cancelled my booking before 24 hrs and they told me wait for 7 working days.
Given the responses in these previous threads I would not be holding my breath:

I would contact your bank, this company is a clear scam and your bank will probably have it flagged as such, my girlfriend received a refund for her deposit through her bank.

I had an awful experience with UniAcco and want to warn other students to avoid them at all costs. They are not what they claim to be. When I tried to book accommodation through them, they lied about being partnered with the accommodation provider. This misrepresentation led me to trust them initially.
They also promised that I would receive a refund if I changed my mind within 24 hours. Unfortunately, after deciding to cancel, UniAcco completely ignored me and never refunded my money. Their customer service vanished as soon as I asked for a refund.
I started using UniAcco after seeing many positive reviews on Trustpilot, but now I believe those reviews are misleading or even fake. After my bad experience, I found out that many other students have also been scammed by UniAcco.
UniAcco is nothing more than a middleman. If you're looking for accommodation, I strongly recommend contacting the providers directly instead of using their service. This company is a total scam, and students need to be aware of their dishonest practices.
