Hi Wilmx1,

I'm joining Milena, I'm also an official student rep for the UoS, and I'm more than happy to help you with any questions you may have.
I'm not sure which course you have in mind, if any, but if you're planning on joining the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, I might be of use as I'm in my last year in BSc Psychology and Sociology .

Are you a Home or International Student?
I'd be more than happy to hear about your plans or aspirations, also any questions you may have about the Uni.

All the best,

Viki

Don’t go to Suffolk!!!! Worst decision I’ve ever made. There are very few clubs and societies. If you want any kind of social life this isn’t the right place. Never been so lonely.

I agree with the above. Do not go to UoS, got my degree but the worst decision and biggest regret of my life.

Hi Anonymous#1,

I'm sorry to hear that you had a negative experience at the University of Suffolk.
I believe it's important to acknowledge that everyone's university experience can vary based on their personal preferences and interests, as well as the openness and initiative each person exercises in order to connect. It is definitely unfortunate that you felt lonely and found limited clubs and societies.

I'd like to highlight that we do have a variety of sport teams students can join in with and various one-off as well as regular well-being events, just to mention a few where students can find like-minded people to connect with. The Mix Cafe & Bar opened recently in the place of the former Cult is also a great place to enjoy affordable food and drinks with discounts to students, and to sit down together to play board games from the wide variety available there, as well as play darts and snooker. They are constantly enriching their activities on offer so it is worth it to check on a regular basis 😉 .

Additionally, I want to assure you that the Uni is continuously working on improving the student experience and provide a supportive environment for all students, I have been a witness to that even throughout the short period of 3 years of me being here.

If you have any specific feedback or suggestions for areas of improvement, or just want to elaborate on your experience, such as what you're experiencing vs what you're looking for in an ideal case, I would greatly appreciate hearing them.

Last but not least, I appreciate if the activities and connecting opportunities at UoS, however versatile, are not to everyone's liking - this is why I'd encourage prospective students to research thoroughly and reach out for information either here or other platforms, as well as websites to be able to consider all aspects of a university, in order to make the best decision possible for them and to know what to expect.

Hello Anonymous#2,

I'm sorry to hear that you regret your decision to attend our Uni. It's important for the University of Suffolk to address concerns and learn from feedback to improve the student experience, so I would be happy to hear your experience and what went wrong, as well as what could the Uni have done to improve this. I can assure you that the Uni takes all feedback seriously and strive to create a vibrant and inclusive community for all of us. If there are specific aspects of your experience that you would like to discuss or provide feedback on, please feel free to either let me know here or alternatively you can email our Student Experience and Engagement Team. The input of the alumni is highly valued, that's how many activities, events and places came to be so far, and the Uni is committed to continuously improving its offerings. Thank you for your input, and I wish you the best in your future endeavours! ☺️

Never been to Suffolk Uni but it's negatively rated at my sixth form and we are local. One guy was super excited about going to suffolk, he was despised by all his classmates even the teachers weren't too keen. Just heard some bad stuff about it. It's also super small so less people apply and that's why I'm guessing less clubs and societies etc.

Hello, I hope you are well.
I am sorry to see your confusion about Suffolk and I would have liked more explanation from you to perhaps understand this thought.
However, as an international student from a French-speaking country with a mechanical background, let me tell you. Suffolk University has allowed me to be part of an extraordinary university journey. But nothing comes easy; for a student, the price is simply commitment and dedication. We have everything that other universities have here at Suffolk, and it's accessible to students. I know you will change your mind if you come to our open days throughout the year.

Hi, I will be more than happy to answer any questions you'd like. My name is Adama and I am in my second year at UOS studying Computing😉.
What is the computing course like? What sort of age are the students and the gender split? Amount of contact hours?
