LGBTQ scene at St Andrews

I’m trans and Bi and St Andrews if my first choice uni, mainly for the course. I want to do mathematics and theoretical physics with a specialisation in quantum mechanics. They’re one of the very few unis that have the type of course and allow this. But I’m worried because it’s quite a small town that there’s not much of an lgbtq scene. Not to mention the fact that the student base is either very wealthy and or has ties to the aristocracy (ik that’s not 100% true) but most probably come from conservative families. I say that like that doesn’t describe my family background to a T but you get what I mean).

Although there’s quite a lot of Americans that go there and idk why I’ve always seen wealthy Americans to be slightly more tolerant nowadays than most wealthy brits.
Just curious of like what the scene is like and how my existence there would go down ig?

St Andrews is a smaller town, but my understanding is that it's pretty welcoming to the LGBT+ community. Maybe hit up someone from this student society for their perspective: https://www.saintslgbt.com/the-gay-saint.
