GP or PUBLIC HEALTH

I've been on this public health journey for sometime now and it feels like the goal post keeps shifting. Considering going back to clinical medicine and working going into GP training. Does anyone here have any advise

heya, pharmacist here but one with quite a few PH contacts (best friend applied for PH registrar post and has experience in LA, OHID and UKHSA). From what he says, it depends what you want to do tbh. PH is interesting in terms of scope and population health but he hated working in LA due to a lack of clinical support (some of the sories Ive hear are quite alarming if true). He said due to the lack of opportunities in pharmacy, PH is the better option in terms of scope, however he says that depending on your own experiences, and how far you are on your PH registrar training, it may be worth completing your CCT in PH before attempting GP ST. conversely, it could be worth enquiring about it being possible to take a gap in PH ST training to pursue GP St training and resuming PH once completed.
