Is Edinburgh bsc Physics really competitive?!?

I'm applying to medicine this year but that means my 5th UCAS choice has to be a different degree and I'm thinking of doing physics!!

I've got my grades A*AAA (A in both physics and maths). I'm a Scottish fee student -- how hard is it to apply to Edinburgh physics with a medicine personal statement? I know they sometimes let you send in another one unless the course is super competitive.

Do you think Edinburgh is too competitive or would they let me send in another personal statement and consider me?
