I would guess they would say you're too old, as I have specified in your other thread. Have you spoken to the schools?

A Levels are commonly very different to how it's taught at GCSE, so you wouldn't get a very good idea of what the education is like anyway. The only thing that you can say is common between them, at least in my opinion, is the fact they start in September and finish by May; working towards the exams at the end of the appropriate year, they usually reserve 1-2 months to revision.

If you want to look through the GCSE material (even I would say it wouldn't help that much unless you intend to do GCSE English Language and Maths at college), you can either pick up textbooks or revision guides for the subjects for casual reading. I would recommend looking through the specifications for the subjects which you can find for individual subjects on the exam boards' websites e.g.
https://www.aqa.org.uk/qualifications
https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/qualifications/edexcel-gcses.html
https://www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/gcse/
https://www.eduqas.co.uk/qualifications/
I would also watch some of the videos on YouTube for GCSE level content.

I think one of the main things you would be focusing on would be the exam papers, so it's probably a good idea to look through the exam papers and some of the questions that you would be answering. You should also look through the mark schemes for those past papers to see what the examiner is expecting from you.

If you want reviews from people who did the same A Levels you are picking, you can get the reviews on YouTube e.g. "what is A Level Politics like", or "how to get A* in A Level Politics"

If you can specify the subjects that you want to take at A Level, I would be able to better advise you on what to expect.
