i got an email from ucas ideas talking about how i can do this technology institution thing and ‘stand out’ more. is this some kind of allusion to me getting rejected form a lack of experience?

Probably not... I just got an email from UCAS about interviews and I don't have to do any interviews.

UCAS do send out these random newsletter emails so if its one of those it shouldn't mean anything specifically. Unless you know that you may have been rejected from a lack of experience?
