Supercurriculars for Linguistics

I would love to study linguistics at uni, but I really can't even begin to think of any supercurriculars except from reading books and journals etc. It is a loooong time til I will even be able to apply but I just want to get some ideas (plus help anyone who is actually thinking about uni). Does anyone know if it would be possible to get work experience (just for a week or so) that is related to linguistics? I have heard of the linguistics olympiad but i'm more interested in finding out whether there are any oppotunities more to experience applied linguistics. Thanks xxx
Have you looked for moocs on futurelearn and similar platforms?
Online lectures/public lectures?
Is there a linguistics society that runs events or outreach?

i'm already a huge fan of lingthusiasm! its great to hear that it can be a supercurricular. I guess i just never saw it that way as it seems so casual and fun but it really does introduce some fairly complex ideas about linguistics (like please i cannot comprehend ergativity lol). Ty xx
