Applying Unis

What unis can i apply for if i want to do business management with predicted grades BBC. Im trying to get my business teacher to predict me an A but is it too late as of the moment im writing this?
Hi!

If you haven't sent your application off then it is not too late if your teacher changes their mind. The application deadline for the equal consideration date is 18:00 on the 31st of January 2024.

I would recommend searching for your course on the UCAS website and browsing the options that come up. On the UCAS website you can see the entry requirements for the course. Once you have a list of some universities you are interested in, you can visit the website for the universities and read about the course curriculum, facilities, and activities which may help you decide.

A lot of universities might still have one more Open Day before the end of they year as well, for example, we have a virtual Open Day on the 13th of December which is listed on our website. This might be the case for lots of other universities as well!

Please get in touch if you have any further questions.

Hi @Koffevibez

On UCAS, you can filter courses by entry requirements so enter in the number of UCAS points you will have and then courses which you meet the requirements for will be brought up for you to look at - use this as a starting point, see if there are any Universities you like the look of or course topics that interest you. After having a quick look, I can see there are a lot of courses from various Universities which you meet the requirements for so do check that out! Some universities may offer you a contextual offer (typically a lower entry requirement) so have a look into that too.

Alternatively, you may want to look into studying a foundation year. If you have a dream University in mind then see if you can do a foundation year there!

Hope that helps, Ella

Hey @Koffevibez 👋

At Essex the entry requirements for BSc Business Management are BBB - BBC

We have the option as well to do a placement year or a year abroad which are fantastic opportunities to get valuable work experience. We're under an hour from London Liverpool Street by train.

Essex Startups is a support scheme for entrepreneurs looking to start their own business while studying at Essex

Hey sorry for the late reply, I did that but i had no results pop up sadly. Do you do it on the search bar or is there something specific you have to choose? Also do you mind clarifying what a foundation year is and if i would be able to do it for any unis despite my grade? Thanks so much for the reply though!

Hi, if you either copy and paste the link into google it should bring up courses for you - if not let me know! I have pre-selected business management courses with 0 to 112 UCAS points (BBC would equate to 112).

https://digital.ucas.com/coursedisplay/results/courses?searchTerm=business%20management&studyYear=2024&destination=Undergraduate&postcodeDistanceSystem=imperial&ucasTariffPointsMin=0&ucasTariffPointsMax=112&pageNumber=1&sort=MostRelevant&clearingPreference=None

If you then copy and paste this link into google you will find all the information you could need about foundation years. Essentially, a foundation year is year which you will take before starting your undergrad degree to help prepare students for studying at degree level.

You will have to look into which Uni's offer foundation years as not all Uni's will. Again, I have pre-selected this so just copy and paste the link into google

https://digital.ucas.com/coursedisplay/results/providers?searchTerm=business%20management%20with%20foundation%20year&studyYear=2024&destination=Undergraduate&postcodeDistanceSystem=imperial&pageNumber=1&sort=ProviderAtoZ&clearingPreference=None

Just as an example to show you can still go to a top Uni (if rankings matter to you) - University of Leeds is ranked 11th in the Complete University Guide for Business and Managment studies. They offer Business Studies with Foundation Year BSc and their entry requirements are CCC - https://digital.ucas.com/coursedisplay/courses/75c1f77d-fe0d-4230-e6b5-ca92e220d816?academicYearId=2024

Hope all that helps, Ella
