What if my GCSE school has improved since I left? (contextual offers)

I was wondering if my eligibility for a contextual offer in regards to the criteria of whether I attended a poor performing secondary school depends on its current state, or how it was at the time.
Generally, admissions departments have an degree of discretion so it may be worth emailing to ask or let them know directly. When you put in your application, it may be worth having something mentioned about this situation directly on your reference

Please ignore the advice above - well meant, but incorrect.

Unis will automatically determine 'contextual' from your home postcode or the school you last attended (usually within one gap year). You dont need to 'tell' the Unis anything or for your reference to say anything specific either. Its all based on info already on your UCAS application - it isnt a 'discretionary' decision at all.

If you are not sure what criteria that Uni uses, then look on their website, or just phone them to find out.
