Do we need to describe the actual picture or make up our own?
Describe the picture for the first choice, you can make up whatever you want for the alternative. You have to include features from the image (eg. if you have an image of a cabin in the snow then write about the snow and the cabin) but you are allowed to extend further then that (as long as its plausible). For the story however, you can use the picture solely as a base of inspiration.
