Any predictions for translations
i think maybe cyber society or music however it’s hard to predict, does anyone know if they do A1 topics for translation or is it rare?

most of the past papers I've done are usually A2 but honestly they could pull anything... I hope they're nicer with boundaries this year though because paper 1 counting as much as it does does NOT do me any favours haha

yeah first time I did paper 1 last year I cried bc it was acc so bad. I feel like they love giving the y13 topics for translations but I swear they all kind of merge into one big topic of politics.

Almost every past paper i could find had a y13 topic for the english to french translations with only 2 in 2019 & 2018 being y12 topics of la cybersociete and le cinema so I'm hoping it means that they will go back to y12 topics.

hi im planning on

doing practise questions (as u said obv)

some past papers probably

practising tricky grammar with websites like lawlessfrench / my aqa french a level grammar workbook

possibly going over vocab on quizlet but lowkey so boring so maybe not

general french reading/listening practise (movies, tv shows, the news etc)

practising translating random stuff maybe

i get what u mean bc french seems so hard to revise for sometimes cus its a language. idk if this list is helpful but thats just my plan!! good luck

i find myself casting french to the side and planning on only revising a couple of days before the exam idk why bc i know i should at least do a week of revision before the exam with all the tricky grammar and weird vocab they could throw at us

but feel like my speaking went well so i want to see it through

would highly recommend for revision for listening you all check out the talk show "27" - it compares different situations + how they're handled across europe and is hosted by french people (they do interview people from other places but it's all dubbed over in french) - they have episodes on almost all of the aqa topics - esp. a2 which is probably the most helpful anyway - and it really helped me prep for my speaking so obvs it would be very good for listening too - you can slow it down but the only downside is the subtitles aren't accurate meaning you do have to concentrate - but considering the exam won't have subtitles, i guess it makes the practice better!!

a tip I have found recently is asking chatgpt to make A level style translations with my personal weak areas of grammar. that way you can really target and have endless resources.

I have been doing something similar as well! And asking it to give me targeted grammar exercises when I don't have anything on me.
ChatGPT can be good when you know how to best make use of it.

I usually ask: 'give me a level AQA French style exercises on .....' with 10 questions and answers.'

then If I want a translation I ask ' Create an A level AQA style translation including English to French on (targeted grammar areas) '
