Sheffield, Leicester, Glasgow, and probably Newcastle now - as long as I like it when I visit on Saturday

All strong ukcat places then? Is it true that Glasgow just use the UKCAT once as the cut off? And do you know what it was last year? Ahhhh why are we only allowed to apply to four :frown:

Yeahh, well I LOVED Bristol, but there doesn't seem much point applying there considering my UKCAT. Well I think they actually rank you for interviews as well - not just the cutoff. Which would be good for you! I think it was about 670 or something?

I can't stand the Birmingham accent haha. I don't think I've got it too strong - but I think anybody from round here, ould say my accent is quite posh, whereas anyone from anywhere else would say its Brummy/Black Country...

If only I was proud of my accent, and then this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlGaepbQ8zo&feature=related would become really relevant

I didn't understand anything he said!! Well you have a nice accent so its all good :P

Ah ok thanks  ahhhh people are now trying to talk me out of applying to two Scottish unis cause of how they prefer scottish people and cause of the fee difference few scots will be applying down south instead... urghhhhhh :frown: I soooo should've left longer than a day to rethink this :l

Well I think you should go for St Andrews :P just because its an amazing place even though the med school is a bit ugly compared to the rest of the uni but they do have the best student fashion show in the country ;D but choose the Manchester option if you go for it!

but sooo many people got rejected last year just because they put Scotland instead of Manchester, I may have been one of them.. even though they say it does not matter which one you choose it really does!

When you sign up for ucas again they ask if you have already applied and you put in your old ucas ID, that's how they know. You do get a new number though.

Thanks  was really starting to worry about UCAS rejecting my application because I plaguarised my old personal statement
No ones situation can be as difficult as mine...
Missed my offers for 2011 entry but 1UMS point!
Now having to retake Chemistry, to get 1 UMS to get an A!
So i am now a retake applicant..
I CAN ONLY APPLY TO PENINSULA AND SOUTHAMPTON :frown:

Wish me luck? x

I see, I'm more of a hotmail refresher myself

Lmao i'm gna stick my ucas track number on my bedroom wall now then so i can remember it. My wall is particularly empty now it's got no a level revision on it :K:

They should give us immediate interviews and cookies for wanting this so much.
Infact i should be alllowed to write, "going through the pain of getting four medicine rejjections and reapplying again eventhough all my friends are at uni and i'm by myself and have to find/do a bloody full time job just for the hope of potentially getting one offer this year shows i'm more committed, motivated and awesome than any of these year 12's applying. So interview me." on my personal statement

I must admit to nearly breaking my F5 button with regards to hotmail as well :colondollar:

Yeah my room/desk is sooo clean its scary, its almost like A-Levels never happened ...

Exactly! We should even get a guard of honour to escort us to our interviews which won't even actually be interviews just an opportunity to for admissions tutors to tell us that their medical school are not worthy of our awesomeness and please please would we take up a place for 2012
if only!
someone wanna pick 2 unis for me out of st andrews / dundee / glasgow?

thanks :colone:

Why are you reapplying there then:confused: why don't you consider somewhere else? What about Edinburgh?

Because I absolutely love the uni! I got an interview last year and seemed to do okish in my interview from feedback I got and that my ukcat wasn't great and my non-academics weren't either. But now I have a good ukcat and my non-academics are better and I have my grades so I think i may stand a better chance... but mainly because I'm in love with it.

I got rejected from Edinburgh last year, and they were rude to me twice :frown: and a woman from admissions basically implied that i wasn't good enough the first time, so i obviously wouldn't be good enough a second time  :frown:

That's how I feel exactly. Everytime someone asks I end up telling them my life story, just to sounds lees of a failure :colone:

I forgot about non-work and non-travel stuff (Extra curricular stuff?). I'm doing a refs course, a coaching course and hopefully find a footeh team that will let me join. (just realised it sounds like I'm doing... nevermind...) well that's it. All football related? gosh, thats a broad spectrum. Anyway...

Honestly, I worked so hard for the measily, slightly above average score... I raped the 600Q book, most of [last years] 'how to pass (because you can't fail anyway) the UKCAT and BMAT'. I did the UKCAT official test download thing. Looking back, it seems like I didn't do that much... I just refused to pay for anything like UPO lol Maybe I'm just naturally, err, yeah that's not it. It's how you do on the day aswell. I know thats probably not what you want to hear - more pressure - but if, say, the Pearson guy comes to have a chat about problems with the UKCAT WHILE I'M DOING THE ****ING MATHS SECTION, you may lose time... I'm sorry, I'm just bitter...

What was your score last year btw?

Bristol and keele... I can't get into either of them :frown: 1 mark off a b in 4th AS... oh and a B in Eng lang. You'll probably have a good idea after your UKCAT

I think I'll apply for Cardiff, Manch, Newc ?????????? ARGHHH I WANT TO GO THERE BUT MY UKCAT IS ****, and perhaps peninsula... idk. I'll do some phoning around this week and hopefully get some answers...

I love football too! I have never met another girl who is as crazy about FIFA as I am in my entire life! I do track and field sports and have a couple of division championship trophies. I do other team sport as well like the mighty FOOTBALL!!!! .. I have talked so much about my love for sports in my PS that the admission guy is probably going to think I am nuts...lol... I KID! ....

I had applied to Cardiff and Peninsula last year (and to Leciester and Cambridge). I have A*AB and so I have no choice but to apply to Bristol and Keele. Bristol accepts C at fourth AS level, just to let you know.

I am working super hard to get good score at UKCAT eventough Keele doesnt put much emphasis on the UKCAT and Bristol, you know, doesn't even require it. I do not care which uni i end up to because all i want is to study medicine.... just MEDICINE  Personally I want to go to keele because I hate partying. Ironically, I give people impression of being very out-going which I am not. :frown:

Last year I got 567 ish.....I know well below the average score! TBH i do not like aptitude tests... I had scored amazing 435 in the VR and semi amazing 801 in the QR... I know what a hero!....lol

Do you mind me asking your Alevel grades?? :colondollar:

Thank you :h:

15 hours total!!! lol God I think I would have died doing 15 hours day! I'm barely awake for that long some days haha (Sorry if I panicked you  )

haha! nevermind but I did get a mini heart attack..hehe... I go to bed like at 10 pm at wake up at 11:30 am, I know such a lazy bone I am.

yup :'(. I dont think it'll ruin it but it might have a teeny tiny effect if the admissions tutors are looking for a reason to reject you.. but they arent, they're looking for reasons to give you an offer (y)

You have given me the impression that you too have poor grades in the EPQ ( i am sorry if i am wrong)... and yes i kind of agree with you, my epq grades may give unis a reason if they want to reject me. :frown: but i shall stay optimistic!

Great! Yes! Football is just so... good. I need to join a team this year. I'm thinking of trying out for the liverpool youth team. Or, you know, a pub team. Which ever one wants me more... :colone:

Bristol want a A in English (get it? a A? because it's not gramatically correct? Nevermind) so it's a bit annoying (so do UEA, HYMS, and I've forgotten the rest).

Unlucky about your UKCAT, but UKCAT is a stupid test anyway :fuhrer:

I got A*A*A*... C. :colone:
Yo guys, What have I missed?
