Welbeck has potential but his shooting boots don't seem to exist for him but I still would have been happy to select him in the starting eleven ahead of Hernandez because he offers alot more to the team. His best finish that I can remember was against Derby in the FA Cup, 5 years ago possibly, when he came on and curled an effort and the goal he scored in the 8-2 Arsenal drubbing. He seems a more confident finisher if he has time, when he doesn't, he tends to break down and lack the composure and add to that, he's not in consistent goal scoring positions and that he is having to play on the wings which doesn't help. I'd still stick with him though, definitely not made for a box to box as has been said for the reasons already given.
First half performance was excellent, the play for the first goal was intricate and exquisite. We maybe got abit too confident after going 2-0 up and thus caused an error for their goal but we rode it out.
Redknapp giving his usual hyperbole about DDG and how clueless he is about understanding a GK's position. If DDG was the height of Shay Given say, then he would have been able to push it away further from danger. Like the Newcastle goal, I don't think he could have done much more so push it away.
