Mebee can't decide between sheff or york yet it's driving me mad!!
That was the decision for me too. I liked the courses about the same, but the city of Sheffield a lot more than York, this outweighed the fact that York has a bit more prestige Imo..
You can get de caffinated tea I do drink, but I felt I ought to advise you at UEA: -Freshers week the nights out are almost all club nights, there is usually one non club night which is comedy. If you don't want to go clubbing you could find yourself the only one in or you might find others don't want to go clubbing. Most people I know went clubbing in the first week even if they didn't like it. -BioSoc socials almost all involve alcohol- they are usually bar crawls or club nights involving lots of drinking- whilst I'm not in BioSoc I've seen all the pics on facebook/seen the events on facebook

I was planning on going clubbing anyway i'll find a way around biosoc
To be honest, it might just be me. There was only one other person doing that joint honours across all 4 years when I went to the open day, who will now have left :3
Ok we're all non or little drinkers obviously but that doesn't mean we can't go clubbing, it is absolutely hilarious seeing drunk people make fools of themselves... until you have to babysit people that have drank too much! lol

ah you'll meet people on the single honours for each anyway
I had the misfortune of studying ecology as part of my A2 Biology course - it has to be one of the most tedious, uninspiring things I've ever studied in my life.
i hate drinking :P i mean i dont mind the odd small bottle now and then... but for 2.70 or something? for one small bottle? ... id rather just have my pepsi max thanks :P
whats good is that with fizzy drinks or whatever you can get hyper AND remember the night!!
who also doesnt like clubbing?
this is probably where i wont fit in... i hate clubs. all ive heard is negative stuff about clubs my whole life... sooo.... yeh... that isnt going to happen
LUCKILY i have made a friend on here who holds the same views and is going to the same uni that i want to go to woo!

It is we still are yet to cover energy flows in A2 thus far, already covered deforestation and fishing
I'm really looking forward to the religion part tbh, the Sheffield course for it looks amazing but I will miss Physics so much D:
I applied today for Ranmoor, most people seem to be going for Endcliffe tho but I like the fact that Ranmoor is kind of quieter and smaller plus they have bigger kitchens
I'm just (productively) procrastinating and looking at the societies they have, there are some awesome ones :3
everyone goes for Endcliffe. When you tell people you're at Ranmoor they assume you're an Endcliffe reject, even if you're not. It can get very dead here if you're staying over the easter/ Xmas hols.
Edit: we do have some amazing societies. If you play an instrument, the Medics Orchestra needs you!
I see. Well, it seems like in that case that paying for a TV license might not be worth the cost - money needs to be used sagaciously as a student. It's also not especially difficult to avoid the news as a student, especially motor-racing-related news.
No. That's cheating.
Well - I can assure you that I have never felt any need for a VHS, and I don't think anybody I know has one. Whilst some things may well come in useful, I can assure you your VHS won't be one of them.
(I now await the now inevitable moment in Freshers Week when you tell me your flatmates wanted to have a video marathon, and your lack of a VHS has led to you becoming a social pariah. )
Indeed, I'm intending to carry on my hoarding of most of Amazon's stock, so I guess I'll have to sacrifice my live television to save my money. I do love it when I get an Amazon parcel...
Put the hot chocolate in the tea bags?
I must be the only person in the world who has not put all his VHS things on DVDs... >.< There's something somewhat enchanting about VHS though, even though it has the worst picture in the world... ._. If worst comes to the worst, I'll assume that Britain's education system is still stuck in the 1990s and hope that I can pinch a VHS from the library
