Just like everyone else I really hate biodiversity and all that section....I really hope the paper isn't heavy on that side of the course!

That sounded like an horrific paper haha

Yeah it was pretty bad! I did it as a mock and I'm just so so glad it was January and not one that could have been ours tomorrow  The grade boundary for an A was like 71 though so you could drop almost 30 marks and still have gotten an A which seems like quite a low boundary to me!

i will put forward my guestimates of what i think may come up, but take it with a pinch of salt :u

- dna replication
- immune response
- smoking/smoking diseases
- water
- compare & contrast a globular/fibrous protein
- conservation in situ/ex situ
- domain/kingdom classification system contrast/compare

but as it's ocr they may just make half the paper on enzymes like last summer...

please make it this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Thanks, always nice to have a guideline of what could come up!
But yeah, OCR will be bitches and do something like that...

just done the June 2012 paper... haha what a joke. :/
It's going to be a real pain if the bulk of the exam tommorow are "Suggest"and "How science works" type questions- would have spent hours memorizing the Bio spec for nothing!
praying for a good, content-heavy paper tommorow! (unlikely though- it is OCR afterall..)

why is it sometimes necessary to have 2 vaccines against a disease? (as opposed to 1? )
Question for anyone to answer:

What are the advantages and disadvantages of In situ conservation [4 Marks]

Animals in natural habitat, behaving normally
Maintains biodiversity in that area

Hard to get food to animals
Hard to observe animals over a large area
Difficult to prevent poachers 24/7

What is everyone doing today, as it's the day before the exam?

I'm personally just reading through everything, double checking. I'll flick through papers for a bit with a mark scheme, then relax for the evening so I am fresh tomorrow morning.

As there may be more than one strain that year, say there is flu 1 and flu 2, you have to have vaccines for both!
(Unless if they stick both dead forms in one vaccine... Then my argument is invalid:s )

Habitat and species conserved.
large populus can be conserved

Hard to control hunting all the time.
competition will occur.

Correct 4 marks

You could also say:

Less disruptive then removing from habitats
Large Populations can be protected
Recovery is greater (than ex situ)

But you got full marks from your points
