Not so far as I know, Our current PP has been with us for 13 years. The previous one was with us for 11 years and the one before 10 years (The last two died in office though).
That said, it may be just unique in our diocese.
My first parish priest was there for a good 20+ years or so. That was in the Southwark diocese 
I'm not certain it's the case in our parish, but then again, ours seems to be turning into a home for old priests...
Parish priest has been there more than 10 years though (in Westminster).
So yesterday I went to visit the museum in the town I'm staying in. When I left, I spotted a pretty looking church to my right, and started heading towards it to have a look. Before I got there though, I got distracted by spotting the Catholic Church, which had a sign on the door saying that there was adoration at 12. The time at that moment? 11.57
Now today I'm heading off to try and find a (CofE) church that my ancestors used to go to, and spend my day looking at gravestones. *I'm so cool*

Same here. It's actually not that unusual, which is strange considering the Catholic Church throughout history has often stood up for incumbent governments and institutions (thereby not being very radical).
Nevertheless, you get some. James Larkin, Irish Trade Union agitator, was Catholic I think http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Larkin . Also, you have strands of Catholicism that are quite socialist, like Liberation Theology.

But you're right, most Catholics are innately conservative :P.
I'm sorta agnostic personally, but I was brought up a Catholic (I'm Irish) and I find it difficult to separate myself from the traditions (e.g I always, inexplicably, cross myself before exams and I would want a Catholic funeral if I died tomorrow).
Everyone's priests are leaving! We have vacancies for a Bishop and a priest at the moment. Why don't they make more priests into bishops (within reason)?

I looked this up and having thought I'd seen something positive about something like socialism on wikipedia, I saw this instead:

It's nice that you didn't exactly say "I was conditioned that way, society made me do it"
I've never actually been to a catholic funeral or a wedding etc. it's strange because I want to meet catholics at university and as opposed to going away to escape it.

If I could go back again I think if chose a different name. Possibly Margaret after Clitherow, or Cuthbert... Girls can have boys names for confirmation... Right?
I've just been to St David's cathedral. Little disappointed tbh, there's nowhere to just sit and pray. I'm used to cathedrals with space for prayer, but there were people taking photos everywhere!

Yeah, it's obviously partly societal conditioning. But there is also a conscious element to not abandoning the faith I think -I was an atheist when I was 16, but couldn't keep it up.
I'm sure you'll meet a fair few, especially based on this thread

You're in Leeds aren't you if I remember rightly.
Hallam's due a new Bishop soon. Our current Bishop will be 77 in November. That said he's the youngest 76 year old I think most people in our diocese know.
Its funny because our current Bishop is our shortest serving Bishop - but if he remains in post on 13th August he will be our longest serving Bishop (in a two horse race)

There's a shortage of priests in my area too, we've had to cut down on mass times!
