the evidence voer the length od islamic history where anyone who has questioned a verse in the quran or even the actions of mohammed been arressted or perhaps executed - beelive it or not that still happens in modern muslim countries

Exactly in Muslim countries no where in the quran does it teach us that we can't question and reflect on the quran and in fact we are encouraged to do so
If u saw my earlier post I gave an example of how Saudi doesn't allow women to drive but dat isn't part of Islam in anyway so everything Muslim countries do shouldn't be used to make accusations about Islam
It's better u use the quran to provide evidence because as Muslims we follow the quran not the Muslim countries who have their own agenda to make certain laws and rulings on certain things

this convert did exactly that, there is no narrow mindedness about it, you can read up on the facts of his case yourself. nice posting comment without thinking

The irony! Thinking? Thats something you need to take up because if you just thought for an ounce of a second you would realise that no where in the Qur'an does it say terrorism is allowed. Those who are terrorists are NOT Muslim because they are going against Islam. You cannot base individuals on the whole religion..if this was the case Islam would not be the most fast growing religion across the world, people would not find as much peace in Islam as they do. Just look at revert stories, one thing they all say is how peaceful and welcoming Islam is the complete opposite of terrorism which goes to show how wrong you really are
Heyy, if you wanted to start learning about Islam without putting in too much effort
then I would recommend watching youtube vids by qualified ppl
'Dr. Zakir Naik' is a medical Doctor who's famously known and he's memorised all of the books from all the religions and he normally answers questions that a lot of people are thinking about.

Whatever religion you do decide to choose, I would say that don't make your decision based solely from the internet, but seeing as how you went and actually visited place of worship, I don't think there's much danger of that

Jus coz in places like Saudi women aren't allowed to drive doesn't mean suddenly Islam is to blame because in fact that is not in Islam there's no rule staring women can't drive that's jus Saudis law
So wat I'm trying to say is jus because these Muslim countries practice certain things doesn't mean it's a part of Islam

There is no rule against driving because Islam, like all religions, could not predict the future.

The whole "It's not religion it's culture" argument gives an all too easy cop out. The fact is Islam supports and endorses the patriarchal structure of society that allows unpleasant behaviour and an abuse of human rights to take place.
Societies inspired by Humanist, Christian, Buddhist, Socialist or Nationalist values would not ban women from driving.

Brother, I am a convert from a Christian family. Like you I had issues with alcohol and I even got mixed up with some pretty nasty drugs. Finding Islam was the greatest thing that ever happened to me. Every single Muslim I have met has gone out of their way to make me feel welcome. If you need any please ask, may Allah guide you on this journey.

I think it's kind of sad that you felt you needed to talk down on Islam when you are follower of another Abrahamic religion...

Explain to me how I "talked down on Islam" in my last post?

Also, which other Abrahamic religion do I follow? I don't believe I've ever mentioned my religious beliefs or lack thereof; never assume.

And the 'slave of Allah' clear derogatory language when saying his prophet would have been the acceptable term.

Why would use the term slave other than to be a bit edgy? Kind of language I expect from patronising Christians.

Am I wrong? Are you not a Christian?

Well if you dont try to debate him then you have no dignity for yourself and no sense worth. He clearly does not know his stuff people who know their stuff look at things from both angles. And this guy chats rubbish

Please don't make false statements, the Qur'an has no such verse that the apostate must be killed, instead it constantly notes that all judgement is left to God, as he is the one to judge deeds.

The Qur'an instead states that:
'There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong..' (Qur'an 2:256)

As well as the 109th chapter specifically addressing tolerance of others beliefs.

As for the statement of sexism - please don't state this without providing evidence/context.

It's not at all derogatory, it's even mentioned in the Qur'an the Muhammad is the slave/servant of Allah, so yes you were wrong in this instance and no I'm not a Christian, you seem to have some kind of agenda against Christians though, why so mad?
