I try to keep in touch with people, but often I get no response. I'm tired of chasing after people.
I'm going to bed. any further questions will be answered tomorrow.

I wonder why there are people like us.

Sherlock fan here, so let's be friends, yeah?
Friends are overrated. It's alright.
I have a lot of friends and a lot of social responsibilities but I hate, hate, hate, hate small talk. I hate when people don't know what to say so try and force crappy conversation about stuff I don't care about. Even in a room full of my friends, USUALLY I'd rather just sit and listen to them talk. Sometimes I want to be the centre of attention and will be a big mouth but not very often. Not socially anxious or retarded, just an introvert I guess.

This is also the key reason behind the fact my longest ever relationship was 3 months in school and it sucked. At uni I'd go out and get laid a fair bit (not to blow my own trumpet...excuse the euphamism) but relationships and dates, having to hold a long conversation with a girl on a date has only ever been a miserable, boring experience for me yano.

Oh well, introverts, power to 'em.

OP - do you feel like there is a reason why no one wants to talk to you or keep in touch?

Neither, it sucks doesn't it. At least we can talk to people online.

Of course it is, the more you talk to people the more you get to know them - leading to making friends. If you don't talk to them, nothing will happen. You can't wait for people to talk to you, sometimes you need to take the initiative.

How do you know it'll be like you never met them once you leave. If you keep predicting the worst, you're just making a wall for yourself. But that will be the case if you don't make friends in the first place.

If you don't give making friends a chance, you won't be able to make friends with anyone during your volunteering. So technically you just don't want friends. Which is fine - but I assume isn't what you want.

Ive had too many experiences where I make friends with someone and then when there is no longer a reason that brings us in the same environment, uni or school or whatever, they cant bring themselves even to Facebook me once in a while to ask how I am.
Im not complaining. I can talk to people and socialise to some extent, but as far as friends are concerned, im done. Its best not to depend on someone too much and then your not disappointed.

Perhaps. I try to be nice to people but maybe theres something about me. I feel as though if someone knew everything about me, they wouldn't want to be in my presence.
