What do you enjoy reading? As in type of books/authors etc

Posted from TSR Mobile

i read a variety of fiction and educational. I just finished reading Jane Eyre. I like books on English history and theres this marvellous collection called A history of everyday things in England by Marjorie and CHB Quennell. the illustrations are really nice.

Why would you stop talking to people you volunteer with? Text them, ask to go out with them

??

I am just like you i had friends to but no more, mainly because i chose to. But besides that i am not good at making friends, i am more an introvert because if i am loud i feel like people will get bored. I cant laugh when people tell jokes unless i genuinely find it funny.

that's a shame. what I miss most of all is having a partner, someone who can be there with you for the bad times and support you. they say you cant miss what you've never had, but I don't think its true. I guess im destined to be forever alone.

Ive had too many experiences where I make friends with someone and then when there is no longer a reason that brings us in the same environment, uni or school or whatever, they cant bring themselves even to Facebook me once in a while to ask how I am.
Im not complaining. I can talk to people and socialise to some extent, but as far as friends are concerned, im done. Its best not to depend on someone too much and then your not disappointed.

Instead of waiting for them to message you on Facebook, why not message them? Try to keep in contact? If they ignore your messages or something then forget about them, move on and make new friends.

You said 'but as far as friends are concerned, im done' so technically, you don't want friends? Nothing wrong with that but just saying.

Yep, but i'm sure you are likely to find a partner more than any mates...

I have tried to stay in touch but people just dont respond. Im tired of chasing after people.

Ah I see, it's just bad experience then. Sorry to pester you but I'm just giving a bit of advice - I don't mean to annoy you or anything.

You shouldn't give up though in making new friends just because old friends don't want to talk to you. Forget about reuniting with old friends, and focus on making new ones with those around you.

I think currently, since you are not actually in a full time workplace that's probably what makes it hard for you to make friends. I'm sure once you do start working somewhere, you'll make friends no problem since you'll be surrounded by them daily.

What happens when im no longer surrounded by them daily?? people just seem to forget, thats the problem.
Anyway atm i have too much emotional baggage and if someone really got to know who i am they wouldn't want to be around me.

You'll start to make friends with people who are around you. Like how in primary you're friends with people but then you forget them all in secondary and make friends in secondary, and then the same in sixth form/college, university, changing workplaces/different jobs, and so forth. The fact just simply is - unless you keep meeting up/stay in contact you'll eventually drift apart. It's not just you, it happens with EVERYONE.

As for your personal emotional baggage, I don't know what that's about but your personal issues are of your concern - you don't have to tell your friends if you don't want to.

Yes but are those people really friends or are they just people you hang around with? a friend is someone you can confide in.
Same position.
I am just trying to be happy w/out friends until someone bothers to talk to me properly or ask me out. :frown:
Where are you from Sherlock? If in the London area, I'll be your friend.

Nobody should go through life alone.
