Do you have to get grades they gave you for your university choice?

Sorry for poor wording of the title, but if a university says you have to get BBB and you get ABC at A2 would you still be able to get in? ( stupid question)

I've popped this in Applications & UCAS for you

It's not a stupid question at all! :h:

It's up to the university whether they accept grades that sort of 'balance out' like in the example you have given. Technically, ABC would not satisfy the requirements of a BBB offer, and so they would be entitled to reject you, since, for a BBB offer, one must achieve at least a B in each of the three subjects.

Hope that helps.

It depends. If the university wants a baseline of B across the board, then no, you won't get in. If they are more flexible and are prepared to work on an equivalent points basis, then yes, they'd let you in.
